The former IT security analyst, Emma Majo, is seeking court approval to expand her effort into a class action on behalf of women who've worked for PlayStation in the past few years.
The suit alleges violations of the United States' Equal Pay Act, saying: "Sony discriminates against female employees, including those who are female and those who identify as female, in compensation and promotion and subjects them to a work culture predominated by men."
Majo alleges that she was ignored by a manager who only responded to men, was passed over for promotions and was terminated this year after submitting a gender bias complaint to the company.
She says other women at PlayStation struggled to get promoted at the same rate as men.
Arkane's studio in Austin (Prey & Redfall) are working simultaneously on two different titles right now. Redfall we already know about, but they also have a smaller team working away on a sequel to 2017's Prey. The project spawned from an experiment developed during an internal game jam they held in 2019, and since Microsoft acquired Bethesda it has picked up significant traction into an actual game. Microsoft are very eager to see this sequel developed just to expand gamepass and their platforms with more high quality titles that might have not performed as well otherwise.
The game is a shorter experience set (mostly) on Earth after the post credits scene of the first game. Project Cobalt, AKA the typhon organism injected with Morgan Yu's cell lines is the player character. It is said to have a "Deus Ex like structure", featuring open ended urban levels with a set of main and optional quests given to you by the few remaining human survivors. This time around, there is a larger pool of alien enemies, to combat a recurring criticism of Prey 1, but, there are also fewer neuromod powers to play with. They are, however, touted as being much more "creative and experimental" the ones in the first.

“It takes place in a 1960s Antarctic city called Borealis,” Moriarty said. “[The game is] codenamed ‘Parkside’… I’ve been told that the development team has incredible latitude to get it right. That seems and sounds right to me.”
He added: “Internally the game is very secret and apparently, totally locked up. Apparently the inclination there is that they understand full well that this game will be compared to what [BioShock creator] Ken Levine does. And by the way, [Take-Two] is also publishing Levine’s next game.”
A senior Sony vice president has been terminated from the electronics and entertainment giant after being caught up in an amateur pedophilia sting video.
George Cacioppo was allegedly trying to arrange a meeting with a 15-year-old boy, according to a video posted by the YouTube channel People v. Preds. Cacioppo had been a senior vice president of engineering for Sony for the past eight years and worked on the PlayStation Store, according to his LinkedIn profile. He has since been fired after appearing in the video.
"We are aware of the situation and the employee in question has been terminated from employment," Sony said in an emailed statement Sunday.
