There’s been much speculation that Demon’s Souls studio Bluepoint could be working on a remake of Metal Gear Solid. However, VGC was told the series is actually being worked on by an external studio based in China.

The remake project is currently in early development and multiple sources suggested it would be centred around fan-favourite entry Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, rather than the original MGS.

Konami also intends to release remasters of the original Metal Gear Solid games for modern consoles, ahead of the larger project, we understand.

Finally, multiple Silent Hill games are currently in development at various external development studios, as per an earlier VGC report from February.

One of these projects was outsourced to a prominent Japanese developer earlier this year, we were told.

mittlerweile bestätigen andere seiten die selbe news und auch soll nun der genaue entwickler des mgs3 remakes bekannt sein. es handelt sich dabei um virtuos studio, die u.a. den pc port von horizon zero dawn, switch port von xcom und andere support arbeiten für jedi fallen order und shadow of the tomb raider in jüngster vergangenheit gemacht haben. ist ein globales studio mit hauptsitz in china, haben aber noch weitere studios in frankreich, kanada usw.

Actually kann man einen guten Einstieg daraus machen, da es prinzipiell die Vorgeschichte von MGS erzählt. War glaub ich sogar damals mein erster richtiger MGS Teil und habe es geliebt.

I persisted and am here now thanks to what I learned from many people around me. It’s credit to the colleagues who supported such that I could hone my mindset to continuously push boundaries.

As of today, a new Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is born where the series will live on. Though I don’t know for sure what they will create, I believe the new generation will further enhance the foundation we built over the years and deliver great games to the world. Ryu Ga Gotoku’s predecessors have passed down their beliefs and know-how to each and every staff member. You can witness it in the recently released Lost Judgment and will see it in the upcoming sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon which will continue Ichiban Kasuga’s story.

This game is currently being developed by producer Sakamoto and directors Horii, Ito and Mitake. I myself along with Takeuchi and Furuta are working on the story.

Whether it’s six months or one year from now, I hope to show you a new Ryu Ga Gotoku title by a new Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio that is different but still the same, and something that will spark a feeling of “this is what we are waiting for” within you. I’d like to continue on my life as a video game creator with earnestness.

laut einem radio interview arbeitet der irische musiker und komponist michael mcglynn an einem größerem playstation remake, welches um "weihnachten" (wahrscheinlich eher einfach nur dezember) herum angekündigt wird. hier geht es zum reddit post.

jetzt wird es interessant, denn komponist yasunori mitsuda (chrono trigger, xenogears etc.) hat vor paar wochen diesen tweet abgesetzt, die eine live-schalte mit eben mcglynn im studio zeigt und wer ist auch dabei? u.a. die erwähnte tochter.


wieso irisch? die nordirische sängerin johanne hogg hatte damals verschiedene stücke für xenogears und xenosaga eingesungen.


das heißt: im dezember (game awards oder vielleicht psx) bekommen wir scheinbar eine ankündigung bezüglich eines remakes, an dem auch yasunori mitgearbeitet hat, was sehr wahrscheinlich xenogears bedeuten könnte.

nachdem ghostwire ja schon auf den open world versuchen von evil within 2 baut, wäre ein kompakteres erlebnis sicherlich nicht verkehrt.
