As noticed by YouTuber MrHulthen, a quickly-changed product description for the item read: “While Shepard and the survivors are left to pick up the pieces, fans are left wondering what’s next.”
This was later changed to: “The threat of the Reapers might have been ended, but at great cost including Earth itself. While the survivors are left to pick up the pieces, fans are left wondering what’s next.”
Since we last spoke about the next Mass Effect™ game, pre-production development has been proceeding very well. The team, comprised of Mass Effect franchise veterans as well as some amazing new additions to BioWare™, has grown steadily! They’ve been hard at work crafting new characters and locations that you’ll love, as well as revisiting many that you’ll remember.
“Exactly. The Council will be furious. Although, they should know by now not to underestimate human defiance. I see it. How did we miss this?”
Mac Walters, one of the architects of BioWare's Mass Effect franchise, has moved on from EA's famed RPG studio.
Walters publicly confirmed his departure over the weekend, after more than 19 years at the company. Beginning as a writer on Jade Empire, Walters took a more senior role on the original Mass Effect, before serving as lead writer for the trilogy's second and third installments.
"With a new year comes new adventures," Walters wrote in a post on LinkedIn. "As some of you already know, at the end of last year I decided to leave BioWare. These past 19 years have been a life-changing experience to say the least, and it made the choice to go very difficult."
“You want some original reporting?” Grubb said. “This game is just nowhere near coming out.
“I was told that when they revealed Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2018, this is similar in terms of timeline. That was announced in 2018 and we’re not getting that game until maybe next year.
“So now do the math for that, and we’re talking 2029 for Mass Effect 5.”
Hussain replied: “I’ve heard some things as well, and this game is so far away. It is so far in another galaxy right now.”
Grubb went on to claim that his sources told him the N7 Day teaser was created mainly to reassure fans that a game was in the works, rather than any sort of indication that it was coming any time soon.
“When I asked, it was just like, ‘hey, is this just because they have to do something for N7 Day?’ Yes. For this thing, that’s all this is.”
