neuer leak:
The image below is from an early demo build of the game featured in a 2021 showcase reel, and you can see the "Parkside" codename in it. Parkside was first referenced by Bloomberg's ever-reliable Jason Schreier back in 2019 and was corroborated by Colin Moriarty in 2021, stating, "It takes place in a 1960s Antarctic city called Borealis. [The game's] codenamed 'Parkside'… I've been told that the development team has incredible latitude to get it right." To add more weight to the Parkside rumor, a big Epic Games Store leak happened last month, which also referenced the project as possibly in development.
Presumably, Crash Bandicoot 5 was in development at Toys for Bob, prior to being quietly cancelled. Kole clarified in subsequent tweets that Crash 5 and the Project Dragon he mentioned previously were two different projects at different studios.
... ...
In spite of going independent, Toys for Bob’s next game is still going to be published by Microsoft, as officially announced in May. Reports have claimed that the title in question is Spyro 4, which has been in the works since January this year.
Humble Games has confirmed whilst it is undergoing restructuring, the company is "not shutting down" and "upcoming releases are not affected."
In a statement to GamesIndustry.biz, Humble Games said:
"In these challenging economic times for indie game publishing, Humble Games has made the difficult but necessary decision to restructure our operations. This decision was not made lightly; it involved much deliberation and careful thought, with the goal of ensuring the stability and support of our developers and ongoing projects. Additionally, the restructuring of operations at Humble Games will have no impact on operations at Humble Bundle.
"We are acutely aware of the profound impact this decision has on our team members at Humble Games and deeply empathize with everyone affected. Our team's contributions have been world-class and invaluable, supporting the launch of our games since we started publishing in 2017. We are committed to navigating this transition with as much empathy and understanding as possible.
"Supporting our development partners and assisting former team members remains our top priority. We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for everyone involved. Thank you for your support and compassion during this challenging period. It is deeply appreciated."
