kleines update zu elder scrolls 6:
During our in-depth conversations with key people at Bethesda for our big Fallout retrospective in the latest issue of Game Informer, we also touched on how development on The Elder Scrolls VI is progressing. The game was first announced in 2018 but hasn’t received any meaningful updates since then. They were all understandably guarded, but here’s what they had to say.
Angela Browder
Studio Director

"It's wonderful to be back in this Elder Scrolls universe. As the internet likes to tell us, it's been a while. And the industry and the hardware and all of this have made such huge leaps and bounds since the last time we made one of these, like, I'm actively excited about what's in front of us, because the opportunities, the hardware, the rendering, all of this stuff has just… the possibilities are crazy! I will be honest, for me, sometimes I see things that are happening, and I go, 'Angela from Skyrim days could never have envisioned seeing this like this now,' and that is a cool thing to be a part of. And it's a thing that I hope that when the day comes that our fans play it, that they – especially those of them who've been lifers with our brands – can really see how far it's all come. You can see that right now: You load up the original Oblivion, and you load up the remaster of Oblivion, and you can see how far it's all come. So, to me, The Elder Scrolls VI is this endless set of possibilities that is really, really exciting as a developer, but really, really exciting as someone who really likes to think about how far everything has come in our industry. It's gonna be dope. It's dope! [laughs]"
Todd Howard
Director and Executive Producer

"It's progressing really well. The majority of the studio's on VI, but I'll say this: We always overlap. So, we're very used to overlapping development. And we have long pre-productions on things so that we feel good about them. And it's a process. We all wish it went a little bit faster – or a lot faster – but it's a process that we want to get right."
Emil Pagliarulo
Studio Design Director

"I can say that it's going! It's funny, because the time pressure that players put on us, we don't put on ourselves. And I know that can be frustrating for players who are dying to play a game. Games take a long time, and games get pushed all the time; GTA just got pushed again, which was the smartest thing they could do, because a game the size of these games, they take not just a long time to make, but a long time to spit and polish and iron out the bugs. And so, what do fans really want? Do they want a game that comes out before it should and doesn't meet their expectations? Or do they want the turkey that is in the oven for long enough to be delicious when it finally comes out of the oven, you know? That's what I think people are going to want. So, we're going to take our time and as long as it needs to be to be great."

Some of you have been asking me if Xbox would be doing its own "Year in Review" style recap of your gaming habits for 2025. My sources suggest that (as you might expect given that it's now the 18th), that Xbox is not doing a "Wrapped" this year. And there's potentially a good reason.
Next year will kick off a confluence of major anniversaries not just for Xbox, but some of its subsidiary properties too. Xbox is having its 25th anniversary, alongside Halo itself. Blizzard is also having its 35th anniversary, and Bethesda is having its 40th anniversary too. Xbox was launched as a brand on November 15, 2001. Blizzard launched in February, 1991, and Bethesda launched in June, 1986 (ironically sharing a 40th anniversary with me!)
As such, a lot of the "marketing budget" that would've typically been allocated to something like an "Xbox Wrapped" is being poured into efforts to celebrate these major milestones for Xbox, its brands, and some of its games.

For sure, I'm told Microsoft has some big plans to celebrate Xbox's 25th anniversary in 2026, which is why you've seen some decreased activity for Xbox community events in 2025. Some of that budget was moved through to next year to accommodate.

Recently, we got hold of a launch Xbox 360 that had never been powered on before. First, we unboxed it for your viewing pleasure and now we're putting it to good use. See the original "Blades" dashboard on the original launch firmware, before we dive into the first part of our extensive look at EVERY launch game for Microsoft's greatest console.

However, we are eventually getting a Fallout 3 remake in the vein of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, as well as Fallout New Vegas on top. I'm told Obsidian of Grounded, The Outer Worlds, and Fallout New Vegas fame has four new projects, some big some small — Fallout co-creator Tim Cain also joined the studio a short while ago. I'm not sure if any of these projects are Fallout-related, but either way, it shows Xbox isn't taking its foot off the pedal when it comes to content.
btw: tim cain hat übrigens schon bestätigt, dass er an etwas bei obsidian arbeitet, was keiner erraten wird. fallout kann man also damit schon mal ausschließen, jedenfalls was ihn betrifft.

auf der blizzcon wird neben u.a. den neuen erweiterungen für diablo 4 und world of warcraft auch eine ankündigung bezüglich eines third-person shooters im starcraft universum stattfinden (schreier hatte vor 2 jahren schon mal darüber berichtet):
At Blizzcon 2026, I thoroughly expect to see new expansions revealed for Diablo IV, alongside World of Warcraft's "The Last Titan." We should also get major updates for Overwatch and Hearthstone, and potentially other new mobile game reveals. There has been long-held rumors of an Overwatch mobile game on the horizon, for example, and I've heard another Warcraft mobile game project is in gestation. The headline for Blizzcon 2026 is most likely going to be StarCraft. It was previously reported that StarCraft is getting the third-person shooter treatment, and I confirmed these rumors true via my own sources a while back.

Machine Games' is also thought to be working on a Rainbow Six Siege-like multiplayer title, although I've heard that Wolfenstein III is also on the cards to coincide with the upcoming Wolfenstein Amazon TV show.

bezüglich ihres summer showcases:
As usual, Xbox will hold an event in June to coincide with Summer Game Fest and the post-E3 summer marketing blitz. It's here where we should see glimpses at 2027 titles, which could include games like inXile's Clockwork Revolution, Undead Labs' State of Decay 3, Arkane's Blade, and perhaps other hitherto unknown titles.

neues von ninja theory, call of duty und age of empires:
I've heard Ninja Theory's next game will be more combat-involved and interactive than Hellblade 1 and 2, while retaining the cinematic excellence the studio has come to be known for. We'll also catch a glimpse of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 undoubtedly here, with Activision eager to reconnect with fans after Black Ops 7's controversial delivery. Call of Duty will also drop onto Nintendo Switch 2 this year as well, fulfilling Microsoft's promises to regulators. There are strong rumors that Age of Empires will return with a new title in the future too, powered by Unreal Engine.

I reported last year that the next Xbox will run full bore Windows, and that is still the plan. In partnership with AMD, the next Xbox will utilize the Windows 11 "Full Screen Experience" with the Xbox PC app to deliver its console interface. Microsoft is working on major updates to the Xbox PC app to accommodate this, bringing it more closely in line with what Xbox console players will expect when engaging with a device on their TV, rather than at their desk.

Where it diverges with a traditional PC is in its ability to actually run games compatible with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Microsoft announced that it's partnering with AMD to enable Xbox games on this PC-like device. Existing Xbox console users' libraries will come forward with them to the new Xbox, as Microsoft continues to commit to backward compatibility in a big way.

Word is out that Bethesda’s MachineGames is working on Wolfenstein 3. The possibility of the game was mentioned in a post by Windows Central‘s Jez Corden, and Kotaku can confirm it’s true from our own sources.
